Duncan W. MacLean, 71, passed away peacefully at home on November, 11 2014. He was born in Boston on August 9, 1943 to Norman and Charlotte MacLean. He attended New Trier East in Wilmette, IL, received a Liberal Arts Degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and received a MBA from University of Michigan.

Duncan was an entrepreneur. He worked for US Steel Corp, and Equitable Bank before starting his own company, which was where he spent most of his career. Duncan had a tremendous work ethic and thrived on winning and succeeding in all he did.

Duncan raised his family in Severna Park, MD where he lived for 20 years before moving and retiring to Arizona. Very recently, Duncan and his wife moved back to Severna Park, MD to be closer to their kids and grandchildren.

Those who knew Duncan refer to him as amazing, great, awesome, kind, caring, giving, and strong. He loved his family with all his heart.
One of Duncan's most favorite things to do was sail the Chesapeake Bay with his wife. The two of them spent many weekends exploring the Bay together.

Duncan is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Norman MacLean. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sonja Jean MacLean, his sister Barb MacLean, Daughter Carolyn Chew and her husband Stephen Chew, daughter Catherine Gloman and her husband Charles Gloman, daugher Missy MacLean, his five grandchildren Evyn, Camryn, Caitlyn, Carson, and Christian, and his great granddaughter Bella. Family and Friends may gather for a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 1-3 pm at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 3:00pm at the funeral home.
