Douglas C. Reynolds, 82, of Severna Park, died May 30 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Lake Waccamaw, N.C.
Douglas joined the Navy at 17 and served as an electricians mate during WWII aboard the USS Brook, a 3rd Fleet destroyer that fought in the Asiatic-Pacific and the Philippines. He also served in the Merchant Marines after the war. He was employed as chief electrician for 34 years at the Baltimore News-American paper, until it closed, and retired from the Washington Times News.
Survivors include his wife, Isolde L. Reynolds; and two daughters, Barbara Davis of Santa Ana, Calif. and Deborah White of Hillsborough, N.C.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1 at Barranco and Sons P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy., where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Private interment will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
