Douglas Lee Phoebus, 52, of Severn and formerly of Annapolis, died of heart failure Oct. 24 at his home.
Born in Washington, D.C., on May 14, 1952, Mr. Phoebus graduated in 1976 from Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va. He worked as a mortgage banker in Maryland and Virginia, most recently for Guaranteed Residential Mortgage Co. in Crofton. He also had been with Long & Foster and Keller Williams real estate firms in Severna Park.
Very church-oriented and an Episcopalian, he attended St. Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church and also Severna Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Shellie Seyer; three sons, Andrew L. and Jayson Phoebus of Severn and Joshua Phoebus of North Carolina; one brother, Jeffrey Phoebus of Maryland; and one stepdaughter, Jennifer Seyer of Austin, Texas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Road, Severna Park. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the educational trust fund to be established for the youngest child in the family.
