Dorothy Rogers Zippe, 102, died Monday at Sunrise Assisted Living-Severna Park.
Born Jan. 4, 1902, and raised in Baltimore, Mrs. Zippe also lived in Glen Burnie and for 35 years in Grasonville before moving to the retirement community. She was a homemaker and previously a secretary for an insurance company in Baltimore.
She loved playing cards, reading and cooking, especially roast beef, according to an article in The Capital in January 2003. She also was a duckpin bowler.
She was the widow of David Dunker, John Brunner and Victor Zippe.
Surviving are one son, Donald Dunker of Severna Park; one daughter, Ruth Strack of Bloomfield Hills., Mich.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will follow. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Baltimore.
