Dorothy Yeager
Dorothy Stone Yeager, 91, of Denton, died of natural causes Sept. 15 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton after a lengthy illness.
Born on Sept. 29, 1913, and raised in Baltimore, Mrs. Yeager also had lived in Crownsville. She was an accomplished artist and a supporter of various medical auxiliaries and women's organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George H. Yeager, former director and chief of surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital; her grandfather, Dr. Harvey B. Stone, former chief of surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital; her daughter, Dr. Anne Stone Yeager, who was notable in pediatric medicine and research at Stanford University; and her brothers, Dr. Douglas Stone and Brinton Stone.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara B. Yeager of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, G. Harvey Yeager of Stevensville; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Caroline Nursing Home, 520 Kerr Ave., Denton, MD 21629.
