Dorothy (Dot) Theresa Ward, 80, of Sugar Land, Texas, formerly of Arnold, MD passed away peacefully Saturday evening at her daughters home in Fulshear Texas.
Dorothy was born to the late Helen Czarny on June 12, 1928, in Queens, NY. She married the late Charles Anthony Ward of New York in 1956. They lived in New Jersey, Texas and Maryland. They resided in Arnold, MD for 20 years.
Dorothy worked for Annapolis OB/GYN until she moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 1995. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park. While living in Texas, she volunteered her time at Polly Ryan and local hospitals. She enjoyed being with friends and family, working in her garden, loved animals and birds, and collected dolls and Hummels. She was an active supporter of Mother Angelica and Catholic ministries. She adored her two grandchildren and loved sharing stories and pictures of them with others.
Dorothy is survived by her two children: Kathleen and her husband, William of Fulshear, Texas; Terrence and his wife, Lisa Ward of Arnold, MD. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Sean Charles Ward and Emily Laura Ward of Arnold, MD.
Flowers may be sent to Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or the charity of one's choice.
A viewing will be held on Friday ,February 27, 2009, from 9:00am-9:30am at Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park, MD followed by a Catholic service. A private burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville where Dot will lay beside her beloved Charlie.
Dorothy's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. E. Barrington Davis of Sugar Land, Texas for his compassion and the excellent care he provided to her over the past few years. She truly adored Dr. Davis.
