Dorothy Edith (McQuay) Sineath, 90, a longtime resident of the Severna Forest community in Severna Park, MD died Monday, May 2, 2011 at Genesis Healthcare in Severna Park.
On July 25, 1920, she was born in Baltimore, MD and married Jack Rayner Sineath on April 4, 1940 in Baltimore. She was preceded in death by her husband who died on January 21, 1988.
As a longtime member of Severna Park United Methodist Church, she enjoyed being in the craft group. Also, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Severna Park Chapter #117 and the American Legion Auxiliary #175 in Severna Park. She spent a number of years working in the cafeterias of schools in Anne Arundel County.
She was the sister of Bob N. McQuay, Sr. (wife Lillian), Nancy L. Hinson (husband Tom) and the late Mary Louise Kuszmaul (husband Bob).
Survivors include a son and daughter, CDR John (Jack) Sineath, USCGR and his wife Tammy of Arlington, VA (ex-wife Patricia), and Joyce E. Timmons and her husband Arthur of Millersville, MD. Her four granddaughters are Marjorie Dickerson, Janice Van Zandt, Jo Anne Smoot, and Amy Clay. Her great-grandchildren are Joseph and Elizabeth Smoot, Indiana and Autumn Van Zandt and Dylan and Jesse Clay.
Friends may call at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with the interment at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
