Dorothy F. Manzolillo (nee Ford) of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away on June 26, 2007. She was 86 years old, born in Great Falls, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, Col (ret.) Russell J. Manzolillo on February 28, 2000. They were happily married June 1944 for 54 years. She lived in the Severna Park area for more than 30 years. For the last few years her address has been with her son. She attended Columbia College in South Carolina and graduated with a 4-year degree in June of 1942 with a major in English. She went on to use her degree to become a grade school teacher. Dorothy was a homemaker. She loved to play golf with all her friends, play duplicate bridge, cook, and garden. During her marriage, her husband's service duties took her around the world to Japan, Korea, and Rome, Italy along with several stations in the United States. She volunteered for the Red Cross service as well. Two sons survive her: Russell J. Manzolillo Jr. and Charles Michael Manzolillo. Charles's wife Elizabeth, daughter Amy Christine of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Russell's wife Stella, daughter Lorie, and her two children Michael and Olivia, of Seneca, South Carolina.
Barranco & Sons Funeral home will be holding visitation on June 29, 2007 from 10:00am to 11:00 am. The service will be held at 11:30am at St. Johns Catholic Church in Severna Park
Internment will be with her husband, Col.(retired) Russell J. Manzolillo at Arlington National Cemetery on July 25, 2007 at 1:30pm.
