DOROTHY MARQUESS LISSAU

Dorothy Lissau (nee Marquess), 78, a resident of Severna Park, died August 4, 2008, at home, due to natural causes.

She was born on June 19, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. She came to Severna Park in 1952.

Mrs. Lissau received a degree in nursing from University of Maryland and went to work as a RN for Dr. Trettin, whose practice was in Severna Park, MD.

Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, loved bird watching, and growing orchids. She really enjoyed life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Samuel Lissau, who died in 1987, and her daughter, Donna Peterson, in 2007.

Survivors include her sons, Melvin Lissau, Jr. of Severna Park, MD, Michael Lissau of Severna Park, MD and Donald Lissau of Glen Burnie, MD; sister, Hilda Buckmaster of Calvert County; three brothers, Mack Marquess, Donnie Marquess, and Arthur Marquess, all of Calvert County. She is also survived by six grandchildren, D.J. Lissau, Jake Lissau, Jessica Balay, Nicholas Lissau, Kristie Lissau, and Monica Peterson and two great grandchildren, Travis and Tori.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, August 7, 2008 between 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 9:30 AM.
Interment will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
