Dorothy Leo (nee Jones) of Severna Park, MD and formerly of Baltimore, died December 30, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Leo was born March 20, 1923 in Baltimore to the late Evelyn and W. Irving Jones, Sr. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Harold E. Leo and her brother, W. Irving Jones Jr.
"Dot" was active until a few days before being hospitalized. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and "grandpets", and enjoyed watching the Young and the Restless and Jeopardy , boating, fishing crabbing, "card club" and going to Laurel and Pimlico. She worked for C & P for many years until retiring in 1984. She enjoyed taking bus tours and traveling to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the US. She recently made the long car trip to visit family in upstate NY with sightseeing in Ottawa Canada. A lifelong Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Ravens season ticket holder and Baltimore Orioles' fan, she was looking forward to the Ravens making a playoff run.
She is survived by her loving family, devoted mother of Paul and Patti Leo; beloved mother-in-law of Linda Leo and Tim Reese, doting grandmother of Craig and Amanda Leo, Julia and Marisa Reese. Dear sister-in-law to Anita Jones and Mimi Leo. Loving aunt to Bill, Kathy and Tom Jones, Bobby, Patrick, Doreen, Alan, Craig Leo and their spouses. Also survived by her best friend, Kathleen Turner.
Friends may call on Monday, January 5, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD. Interment will follow at a later date at New Cathedral Cemetery.
