Dorothy Fay (Mitchell) Higgins (formerly Christopher, Reimer) died March 11, 2013 in Centerville, MD.

Dorothy was born on December 22, 1923 in Columbia Park, MD. She worked for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon during World War II, at Ft. Meade, MD, and retired from NSA after 30 years. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Severn Post #175 of Severna Park, having served as President and Treasurer for many years. She gave countless hours of volunteer services. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Florence T. Mitchell; her husbands, James F. Christopher Sr., Louis P. Reimer, and James N. Higgins; and brother, Thomas E. Mitchell. She is survived by 6 children: James F. Christopher Jr. (Theresa), Thomas R. Christopher (Catrina), Mary M. Guseman (Ed), LouAnn Alderton (Jake-deceased), Louis E. Reimer (Rachel), and Catherine Boykin (Robert). She had 14 grandchildren (4 deceased) and 24 great grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, March 16, from 3-5 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A service will be held Monday, March 18 at 10 am at the funeral home with interment to follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood.
