Dorothy S. Gerath, 94, a resident of Linstead Severna Park and formerly of Arlington, VA died of natural causes at her home May 6, 2009. She was the daughter of Mr.& Mrs. Hervey Button Smith of Hartford, Connecticut where she was born and raised.
In 1939, she married USMC Col. Joseph A. Gerath, Jr. and they traveled for over 20 years from BASE to place until they retired in Severna Park. Col. Gerath died Feb. 2, 2002.
Mrs. Gerath loved gardening and growing her own little English Boxwood. She was interested in Interior Design and studying and collecting antiques.
Surviving are one son, Joseph Gary Gerath, one daughter, Sharon Gerath Clark and one grandson, Joshua Price Clark.
Inurnment with Colonel Gerath at the USNA Columbarium in Annapolis.
