Ms. Dorothy Elizabeth Evans, a longtime resident of Severna Park, MD, died Friday, June 23rd, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Born in 1922 and raised in Baltimore, MD, Dorothy was first married to Clarence Preston and later to Calvin Evans.  She was employed by the Millersville Post Office, Westinghouse, Chesapeake Instruments, and Anne Arundel County Water and Sewage.

Dorothy was an excellent artist and enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, going out to dinner, and visiting Ocean City, MD.  She was a feisty and determined woman with a soft and giving heart.  She was also a member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Preston, her son and his wife, Richard and Debra Preston, her stepdaughters, Carol Lester and Sharon Humphries, her stepsons, Bruce Evans and Wayne Evans, and several nieces and nephews.  She had 4 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 3-5pm & 7-8:30pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 8:30pm immediately following the visitation at the same location.  Interment will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11am in the Glen Haven Memorial Park, in Glen Burnie.
