Dorothy Breyer, 92, a 43 + year resident of Severna Park (Chartridge), died peacefully at Hospice of the Chesapeake on August 10, 2026 a short time after entering that facility. For the last five years she resided, along (until recently) with her faithful and loyal dog, Bubbles, at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Severna Park.

Dottie was born on September 21, 1933 to Harold B. Christensen and Margaretha Schneider Christensen in New York. Her mom passed away in 1967; her dad died in 1989.

Dottie's dad for a time worked in a movie theater in NY as a projectionist and, when she was a child, she would enjoy her frequent visits to the "movie house" to watch movies from the projection room as her dad worked the projector. As a young adult, Dottie worked in New York City as a Girl-Friday for a corporate attorney in the employ of Texaco (now Chevron) while living in New Jersey, before marrying and moving to Maryland. After relocating to Maryland, Dottie took a job with the Department of Legislative Services in Annapolis where she worked for over 37 years. She received great accolades upon her retirement and was grateful for having had had the unique opportunity to work with the Department (and with the legislators).

Dottie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew Breyer, who departed this life on August 7, 2021. Andy and Dottie never had any children together. However, Dottie is survived by her stepdaughter, Andrea Feldman, who resides in Germany, as well as other distant relatives both here and abroad.

A memorial gathering will be held in on Friday August 28, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home and Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park MD 21146.
