Dorothea G. Hoagland, 72, a resident of Arnold, MD, passed away on October 23, 2017 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

She was born on April 25, 1945 in Warren, Ohio where she was raised and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. She previously lived in Germany, Georgia, and Texas.

Dorothea was a Teacher in Youth Services at Ft. Meade and an Assistant Director of Youth Services in Augsburg, Germany.

Dorothea loved to paint, enjoyed her time spent in Germany, and riding her motorcycle. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Hoagland of Arnold, whom she married Oct. 26, 1984; her children, Shannon May (David) of PA, Scott Johnson of MD, and Rachel Johnson-Liphart of MD; five grandchildren, Sarah, Megan, Joel, Michael and Shannon; one brother, Thomas Totterdale; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in dead by her mother, Doris Houck Totterdale and, and her father Thomas C. Totterdale.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 4-6 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, where a Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 pm. Interment will be private.
