Dorothea Chmielewski
Dorothea Marion Chmielew-ski, 82, of Severna Park, died Dec. 11 at Heartlands in Severna Park after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Chmielewski was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Moultonborough, N.H., and lived in Glen Burnie for 37 years before moving to Severna Park five years ago. She graduated from the Boston School of Dental Nursing.
On Oct. 7, 1945, she was married to Sigmund Chmielewski who died in July 1993. A homemaker, she traveled extensively during her husband's military career.
She was a member of Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie and loved painting, crocheting, knitting, writing poetry and gardening.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Chmielewski Bosna of Severna Park; two sons, Tim Chmielewski of Sauk Rapids, Minn., and Ron Chmielewski of Allentown, Pa.; one sister, Bertha Smith of Springfield, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, with services at 11 a.m. Friday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
