Doris Armerbaugh Moffatt, 89, a resident of Severna Park for 10 years, died on May 23, 2008, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center of a sudden heart attack.
Mrs. Moffatt was born on May 18, 1919 in Pittsburg, PA, where she was raised. She also lived in Lawrenceville, NJ for 40 years.
She returned to college at the age of 62 and became a self-employed writer and had a book published "Hope is a Butterfly."
Mrs. Moffatt loved writing, was a member of the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian and was very active in "Merry Widows" (church affiliated group).
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Moffatt, who died in 2002.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne F. Gill of Severna Park, MD; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 27 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home at 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be offered at Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 28 at 12:00 pm at 114 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Maryland.
