Donna Marie Peterson, 53, of Severna Park, died of cancer Nov. 14 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of Dorothy M. Lissau of Severna Park and the late Melvin Lissau, who died in 1987. She was born in Baltimore on Aug. 28, 1954, and reared in Severna Park where she graduated from Severna Park High School in 1972. She worked as a computer analyst for many years and was a homemaker.

She enjoyed swimming and received numerous awards in diving with the Junior Olympics. She also liked gardening and loved the beach.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Monica Marie Peterson of the home; and three brothers, Melvin S. Lissau Jr. and Michael S. Lissau of Severna Park and Donald L. Lissau of Glen Burnie.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow followed by services at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
