On July 29, 2025, Donna Demchuk McCorkle moved on from this world while surrounded by her family in Ocean City, Maryland.

Born Donna Michelle Demchuk in 1951 at Anne Arundel General Hospital, she was the only daughter of Michael J. Demchuk Sr. and Doris L. Demchuk. Donna grew up in Glen Burnie, across from the iconic Ann's Dari-Creme, in Gerard Plaza, with her brothers Michael, Peter, and Steven. She graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School and attended dental hygiene school at Howard University. Donna married Jack McCorkle Jr. in 1975 and loved the opportunity to live all over the world – from Florida to Maine, and California to Japan. They welcomed two sons, Matthew Woodward and Peter Griffin.

Settling in Bowie, Maryland, Donna turned her house into a home where everyone was welcome. Some friends stayed a few hours while others stayed the night, and more times than you can imagine, they just moved in.

She poured that same love into her grandsons, Mason and Nolan, never missing a play, game, or classroom event, and spoiled her grand dogs, Zorba, Danny, and Phoenix.

Donna worked as a dental hygienist for over 35 years, drawn more to the people than the teeth. She loved hearing others' stories and learning about their lives, and probably also enjoyed being able to talk without them getting in a word.

She volunteered in Bowie's community events and had a well-known passion for sports, especially the Ravens and the Orioles. She shared her opinion with many a lacrosse and soccer referee over the years. She was a Maryland girl through and through – crabs with Natty Boh, double dogs from Ann's, and malt vinegar on her Thrasher's fries.

Donna was proud of her Russian and Ukrainian roots but always identified most with her Polish heritage. From her "You Bet Your Dupa I'm Polish" license plate to making chruściki with her family during the holidays, she cherished that part of her family history.

Donna once said that she didn't have money but she had time, and she always gave it so generously. She was one of a kind because she saw the "one of a kind-ness" that exists in all of us and she encouraged people to let that part shine. She showed so many people the power of unconditional love and lived by one of her favorite sayings: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Donna is lovingly remembered by her mother, Doris Demchuk; sons Matthew (Casey) McCorkle and Peter (Chris) McCorkle; her grandsons Mason and Nolan McCorkle; her brothers Michael (Kathleen) Demchuk Jr., Peter (Deborah) Demchuk, and Steven (Kathy) Demchuk; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Family and friends may visit on Friday August 15, 2025 from 2:00pm-4:00pm & 6:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P,A, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Services will held on Saturday August 16, 2025 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
