Donald W. Horgan, Sr., 82, a resident of Severna Park, died peacefully on August 19, 2014. He was born on September 29, 1931 in Baltimore, MD where he was raised and moved to Severna Park in 1968.
He graduated High School at Mt. St. Joseph's in Baltimore, MD and earned a Chemistry degree from Loyola College and an Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University, both in Baltimore. He worked for FMC Corporation and before that, at Allied Chemicals as a Chemical Engineer.
Donald was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved the Colts, Ravens, Orioles and vacationing at the beach with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta Vanik Horgan of Severna Park; three daughers, Mary Ann Clarke (Chris), Barbara Mason (Rich), and Allison Hall (Roy) and two sons, Donald Horgan Jr. (Michelle) and Paul Horgan (Della) and 10 grandchildren, all local.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9:00 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 22, 2014 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave. Millersville, MD 21108. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD
