Donald Henry Ewald, 87, a resident of Annapolis, Maryland passed away on February 23, 2016 after an eight year battle with lung cancer.
He was a resident at Bay Woods of Annapolis. Prior to that he lived at Timber Pines (Spring Hill, FL) for 18 years, and Cherry Hill, NJ from 1974-1996. He attended City College High School and worked for Cargill as a Meat Consultant.
Mr. Ewald was a member of the National Guard, a Lifetime Member of the Masons, a volunteer for the Red Cross and Hospice, and sat on the Missions Committee for Hudson First United Methodist Church in Hudson, FL.
Mr. Ewald is preceded in death by his wife, Genevia Bower Ewald, whom he married on April 16, 1949, and his Parents Margaret Pennington Ewald & Henry Rudolph Ewald. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle B. Smith of Crownsville, MD; and three grandchildren: Kristin Gallagher (husband Mike) of Annandale, VA; Staci Smith of Boston, MA; and Sean Smith of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by his great grand-daughter, Geneva Rose Gallagher.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 12, 2016 at 2pm at Bay Woods of Annapolis, 7101 Bay Front Dr., Annapolis, MD 21403
