Donald Matthew Durr, 80, a resident of Bel Air, passed away on July 13, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on September 2, 1936 in Woodstown, NJ, where he was raised, and attended Woodstown Elementary in NJ; Woodstown High School in NJ; Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA; and University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He previously lived in Wenonah, NJ; Silver Spring, MD; Severna Park, MD; and Bel Air, MD.
Donald served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1964. He was a retired mathematician and engineer and was employed at RCA in Camden, NJ and the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD.
He was a member of Civic Associations; Multi-Hull Associations; and the Bel Air Community Association (Homestead Village).
His interests were sailing & boats, hunting, stock market, computers, baseball, football, and basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Grace A. Durr of Bel Air, MD; son, Daniel Durr (Kirstie) of Fallston, MD; and Elisabeth Durr of Glen Burnie, MD; and four grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 11am to 12pm at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral service will begin at 12pm following the visitation in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
