Donald P. Carter of Odenton, previously a Severna Park resident for 32 year, died November 7, of vascular disease after a lengthy illness in University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
He was born and raised in Covington, Va.
He served in the Navy during Korean War was a member of post 175 VFW, enjoyed baseball, fishing and boating.
Mr. Carter was a retired Anne Arundel County Comptroller.
He is survived by his wife Lela M. El Mahdi; one son, Steven P. Carter of Arnold, one grandchild, Ryan Carter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Barranco and Sons P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
Funeral services will be private.
Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville MD.
