Don Walter Montz, 76, a resident of Severn, died of natural causes Oct. 31 at Perry Point Veterans Administration Medical Center in Perryville after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 12, 1927, in Whitstone, Ariz., Mr. Montz was reared on Solley Road in Pasadena. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1948.
He worked for the Teamster's Union as a tractor trailer freight driver for 31 years.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Glen Burnie and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 271163 and enjoyed country music.
His wife, Kathryn Marie Ramsay Montz, died July 25, 2000.
He was the brother of the late Gary, Richard and Pyrior Montz.
Surviving are two sons, Walter Montz of Hanover, Pa., and Don Montz of Glen Burnie; two daughters, Evelyn Montz Helsel of Severna Park and Donna Montz of Glen Burnie; two brothers, Joseph Montz of Virginia and Dennie Montz of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Ardeth Conkren of Pasadena and Dora Phillips of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

The name of a survivor was incorrect in the obituary for Donald Walter Montz, 76, of Severn, in The Capital on Nov. 2.
Mr. Montz, who died of natural causes Oct. 31, is survived by his sister, Ardeth Cochrane of Pasadena. He was the brother of the late Newell Montz.
