Dominick W. Heyl, of Gambrills, passed away on May 11, 2021 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was born on December 17, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was raised. He had since lived in Norfolk, VA, Great Lakes, IL, Groton, CT, Pearl Harbor, HI, and Corpus Christi TX before coming to Gambrills, MD. Dominick received his Bachelor's degree at George Washington University. He worked as an Independent Duty Corpsman in the United States Navy for nearly 30 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed cruising the world with his loving wife and in-laws, fast cars and sports.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Fleischmann; his father-in-law Phil Fleischmann and mother-in-law Val Fleischmann of Odenton, MD; his sister Sharon Shean and brother-in-law Steve Shean of Pittsburgh, PA; his brother Lawrence Heyl, Jr., of Pittsburgh, PA; his sister Elizabeth Snodgrass and brother-in-law James Snodgrass of Ingleside, TX; his brother Steven Heyl and Sister-in-law Kini Heyl of Cary, NC; his daughters, Michele Heyl of Deltona, FL, and Nicole Heyl of Oriental, NC; his grandchildren Mallorie Yeakel of Deltona, FL, and Jayson Hesse of Port Orange, FL; his great grandson Mayson Hesse of Port Orange, FL; as well as his cousins, Forrest Hodges and his wife Kathleen Hodges of Pittsburgh, PA, and William Hodges and his wife Rose Hodges of Pittsburgh, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, Janet and Lawrence Heyl, Sr.; his brother Paul Heyl; and his daughter Stephanie Heyl.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2-6pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Drive, Crofton, MD, 21114. Burial is to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust at https://secure.dav.org/site/Donation2
