Dolores Lorraine Bowen, 91 of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2022.

She was born on March 3, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland to Felix and Hattie (Werner) Volney.  She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland.

On July 12, 1952, Dolores married William Earl Bowen and they had 2 children, Sherrye and Billy.  Dolores and Bill were married 27-years until he passed in 1979.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Volney.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Sherrye Shupp and her husband Michael Shupp of Queenstown, Maryland and her son, William Bowen and his wife Kimberly Bowen of Annapolis Maryland.  Her grandchildren, Jessica Shupp Hess and her husband Brian Hess, Kelly Archung Noonan and her husband Kyle Noonan, and Christopher Archung.    Her great grandchildren Georgia, Macailagh, and Maeve Hess and Miles Noonan.

Dolores lived most of her life in Cape St. Claire and retired from the Federal Government (Naval Academy) with 27-years of Service.  Upon her retirement she discovered her love for travel.  She travelled throughout United States and the world including Germany, Austria and Israel to name a few.  She loved to reminisce by looking at all her photos.

Dolores truly enjoyed Ceramics and all forms of arts and crafts.  She had a natural talent and was a very good artist.  She also had a tremendous love of the water.  She loved the beach, crabbing and riding jet skies with her children.  Dolores lived a full and wonderful life and we will miss her beautiful blue eyes and kind and loving ways.

In Honor of her wishes, her Service will be private.  Dolores will be laid to rest at the Glenhaven Memorial Park on August 30, 2022.
