Dixie MacMurray

Dixie Ann Hereth MacMurray, 68, of Severna Park, died June 9 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie after a sudden illness.

Mrs. MacMurray was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Cresaptown in Allegany County and was reared in Brooklyn before living in Severna Park for 39 years.

President of Chancellor Title Services and one of the original partners of Champion Realty, she was a member of the Board of Realtors and the Maryland Land Title Association.

She loved bowling, spending time at a beach house in Fenwick Island, Del., playing cards and caring for her family and her Yorkies.

She was married to Ralph MacMurray, who died in 1999. Surviving are three daughters, Robin L. Dee of Taneytown, MD., Lisa D. Farmer of Annapolis, Jennifer L. Young of Severna Park and her sister Joan Friedel of Millersville; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 23 at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assateague Island National Seashore, 7206 National Seashore Lane, Berlin, MD 21811.
