Richard "Dick" E. Mawhorr, 61, a resident of Arnold for 33 years, died suddenly on September 9 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

He was born on February 27, 1947 in Ashland, Ohio and was raised in Mansfield, Ohio and graduated from Madison High School in Mansfield. He married his loving wife, Rosemary on February 14, 1969.

Dick received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He was a graduate from the FBI National Academy and retired as a Lieutenant from the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division after 20 years of service. He was a Fraud Investigator for Nationwide and Geico Insurance Companies.

He served in the Air Force Military Police during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his golden retriever Mindy, and loved the beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Florence Mawhorr, and sister, Sandy Nicita.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Mawhorr, son, Tommy Mawhorr (Tabitha) of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Erika Mawhorr Bisesi (Joe) of Severna Park, MD; four grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Caleb, and Hunter; sister, Donna McNeely (Gary) of Mansfield, Ohio; and dear friend, Marie Amos.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, September 11 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 12th at 10 AM.
Burial will follow in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
