Diana Mae Kuszaj, 59, of Arnold, died of complications from breast cancer June 4 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore after a brief illness.
The daughter of Thelma Nadler of Hudson, Fla., and the late James Schmoke, Mrs. Kuszaj was born Oct. 5, 1946, and reared in Erie, Pa. She graduated from Edinboro State College in Pennsylvania in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in education. She subsequently earned a master's degree in education from California State University of Pennsylvania.
She taught in the Anne Arundel County public school system for 15 years.
Her interests included reading, boating, gardening and travel.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Syl Kuszaj; one daughter, Sarah B. Cook of Aberdeen; and one brother, James Schmoke of Waco, Texas.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services and burial are private.
