Dewey Richard Heising, 91, a resident of Severna Park, passed away on January 04, 2020 at Sunrise Assisted Living.

He was born on September 11, 1928 in Fargo, North Dakota, where he was raised, and previously lived in Trieste, Italy; Mexico City, Mexico; San Diego, CA; and Washington, DC, where he graduated from Georgetown University.

Dewey worked with the U.S. Court- Financial; Peace Corp; and Catholic Relief Services.

He enjoyed the piano, painting, travel, photography, and writing.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Erna, who passed away October 25, 2017 and his daughter, Riccarda, who passed away on December 14, 2019.

He is survived by his son, Warren James Heising and daughter-in-law Regina Heising of Churchton, MD; son-in-law, Fuiz Al-Khayyal of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Ian Heising of Rockville, MD, Sean Heising of Churchton, MD, Sarah Al-Khayyal of Atlanta, GA, and Adam Al-Khayyal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00am at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament 3630 Quesada St. NW Washington, DC 20015. Interment at Congressional Cemetery 1801 E St. SE Washington, DC 20003.
