Debra Collins, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away Monday February 2nd 2026. Born with a curious mind and a generous spirit, Debra dedicated her life to learning, service, and the people she loved.
Debra began her career as a librarian with Westinghouse, continuing through its transition to Northrop Grumman, where she built a distinguished career spanning decades. Rising to the role of Contract Negotiator, she traveled the world for her work—an experience she cherished and often spoke of with fondness and humor.
Outside of her profession, Debra embraced life with enthusiasm. She and her late husband, Terry Collins, traveled widely for both work and pleasure, collecting memories and stories from around the globe. At home, she loved reading, cooking, and exploring her family's history through genealogy—passions that reflected her deep appreciation for stories, both written and lived.
Debra is survived by her children, Josh Collins of Severna Park, Maryland, and Matt Collins of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her daughters-in-law Carol Leen Collins and Danielle Marks Collins; and her three cherished grandchildren, Alice, Annabel, and James Collins, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda Grode of Palm Coast, Florida. Debra was Proceeded in death by her husband Terry Collins and sister Carol LaRotonda.
Debra will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to family, and the deep love she carried for the world around her. Her legacy lives on in the stories she passed down, the recipes she passed down, the family she nurtured, and the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Heifer international which was Debra’s favorite charity.
