John "Jack" Edward Connor, a resident of Annapolis, MD, passed away on March 11, 2020 while surrounded by his family. He was born on September 22, 1927 in Ashville, NC, then was raised in Washington D.C. by Thomas and Dorothy Connor. John attended George Washington University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in business. He worked as a payroll supervisor for PG County Public Schools and played professionally as a Jazz drummer for 55 years. John was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a WWII Veteran. He was a Permanent Deacon in St. Matthias Church as well as St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church. John enjoyed collecting and caring for Model Trains.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Connor; his two daughters, Ann Claypoole of Annapolis, MD and Lynn Trubits of Arnold, MD, as well as 6 grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church for immediate family only. Burial is to follow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
