David Mitchell was born on May 7, 1941 in Eckman, West Virginia. He died peacefully at home on Thursday October 10, 2013 after a long illness. David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Casler Mitchell and a son Robert A. Mitchell; sisters Becky Diaz (Pedro), Pam Medlin (Billy Scott), and a brother Richard C. Mitchell, III. (Janet). He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. and Addie Peake Mitchell.

David will be remembered for his love of life. He was a loyal friend, faithful brother, loving father, and devoted husband. He loved to travel, and his favorite place to spend his time was at his home in Fort Myers Fl. David retired as a systems analyst with the US Department of the Treasury.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, October 13, 2013, from 3pm -6pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, Maryland. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11 AM at Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church, 855 Chestnut Tree Drive, Annapolis (Cape St. Claire), MD 21409. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cape St. Claire Church to the David Mitchell Memorial Fund.
