David K. Michael

Born in Fairmont, West Virginia, David found his way to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the early 1970's.  Here he married his wife, Elizabeth A. (Betsy), and made Maryland his home.  They moved to Anne Arundel County and brought a daughter, Elizabeth B. (Bess), into the world.  Decades later a grandson, Julian David, entered their lives.

David was a whiz at math, doing equations in his head so fast that you were left speechless.  He also had a wicked sense of humor, inventing fun names for things, Davidisms.  Betsy's cars were always named Scurry Scooter.  Bess was "oh ye of diminutive stature", no Shorty.  And then there were "the gittles", his hands and fingers that would "git" you and tickle you.  They  were named Fang and Snarflegarf.  David loved music, basketball and good food, lots of it!

Family is not just the people who are related to you by blood.  More often family can be the people who are related to you by love, and David had a large family in this regard.  They were there for him as he battled Huntington's Disease.  David, you were loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held in the month in which he married Betsy:

Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m., St. Martin's-In-The-Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Road in Severna Park, Maryland.
