David L. Mendelsohn passed peacefully on February 9 2021 at his home in Pasadena.
David arrived in this world on June 4 1952 to Irving and Jean Mendelsohn in St Clair, Illinois. As the son of a military family, his childhood took him around the world to places such as Russia, Germany, Philippines, and Guam, however, he always called Maryland his home, the place where he graduated high school in 1970. He was preceded in death by his younger sibling, Richard Mendelsohn.
He graduated from Arundel High School then went on to Interior Design School in DC. David always embraced life, he maintained an infectious positive attitude that he was able to pass on to others. He enjoyed creative activities, was a master at model ship building with his attention to detail. He loved going to the renaissance festival and immerse himself into the culture of our ancestors. They always enjoyed meeting new people and traveling to new places, he possessed the unique ability to always be a little walk into the room and make a new friend. He enjoyed social gatherings and having dinner with friends. He was an avid Redskins fan. He has left a mark on so many for his outgoing personality, and his storytelling, he loved to embellish the facts, but his stories always had a way of making people laugh. We are diminished by his passing.
He is survived by his son Michael who currently resides in Texas, and his significant other Sandy Twombly and her daughter Lauren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held this spring.
