David Strickland Hoggard passed away of natural causes on August 29th.

David was an incredibly loving guy to all who knew him - full of joy, pranks, laughter, hard work, perseverance and deep empathy for everyone's life he touched. He found immense peace in the halls, gardens and sanctuary at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church where he worked and volunteered. Throughout his life, the place he probably found most sacred was fishing or boating on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and Eastern Shore. But the force that truly sustained David was the depthless love he had for his three children: Zach, Danny and Lyndsey.

In addition to his three amazing children, David is survived by his mother Patricia Hoggard, sister Ellen Hoggard, brothers John and Steven Hoggard, cousin Piney Kesting and 18 kooky nieces and nephews. We are all devastated by his loss. David was predeceased by his beloved father, Walter Lewis Hoggard.

David was a kind soul to strangers and friends alike. It's his family's deepest hope that the kindness he sent out into the world during his all-too-brief life will influence those he met and loved along the way.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 9th at 1pm at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, MD. A private interment will take place later, at The First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, NJ where David will be laid to rest alongside his dad

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a GoFundMe site created for his children.
