David A. Hartel, 72, a resident of Gambrills, MD, died suddenly on February 19, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, due to heart failure.

He was born on July 17, 1937 in Buffalo, NY, where he was raised. He graduated in 1959 from University of Buffalo with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He then spent several years as a civilian engineer for the United States Navy. His past residences include Cocoa Beach, Florida, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Crofton, Maryland.

Dave spent most of his professional career with ARINC. After his retirement, he worked for various government contractors.

He loved reading, smoking cigars, and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Hartel, who died on February 17, 1998.

Survivors include his son, Philip Cline of Severna Park, MD; his granddaughter, Carrie Corns of Hampstead, MD; his grandson, Jesse Cline of Poulsbo, WA; and two great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
