IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David M.
Hanna
January 31, 1951 – February 28, 2025
David Michael Hanna of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Friday, February 28th. Dave graduated from Annapolis High School in 1969 and joined the Army. He served as a Ranger in Viet Nam and upon returning home, he worked as a carpenter on custom and historic homes with Berliner Construction Company, the US Naval Academy, and finally at St. John's College from where he retired. He used his gift to create for his family: shelves for Lego creations, display cabinets for his grandsons' baseballs, cabinetry, and fireplace mantels. Whatever we could imagine, he could build thereby earning the nickname "Slick" from his wife. He was a devoted usher and regular attender at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church where he also used his skills to repair the cross and other church artifacts.
The third son of Frank and Bessie Mae (Cockerham) Hanna, Dave was a dedicated family man to his wife, Pam, daughter, Brook (Doug), and daughter, Carolyn (Tommy). He enjoyed attending his grandsons' (Brady and Paxton) baseball games and building beautiful cases and shelves for their equipment and game balls. He also enjoyed spending time with his brothers: Richard (Pat), John (Judy), and Joe (Jean) watching and talking about the Orioles and the Ravens. He will be dearly missed by his family, and many, many friends.
Mass will be held at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409, on Friday, March 21st, at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville later. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Andrew by the Bay or planting a tree in his honor.
