David Edward Fowler, 59, a resident of Great Capacon, WV, died on December 29, 2012 at his home.

He was born on October 18, 1953 in Baltimore, MD and was raised in Pasadena and graduated from Severna Park High School in 1971. He moved to Great Capacon in 2007.
David was employed as a Professional Fire Fighter with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. He spent most of his career at the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company (Station 12), where he was a volunteer at the age of 16. He previously worked at the Fort Meade Fire Department. He was a volunteer member of the Great Capacon Volunteer Fire Department (Station 2) and a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, hunting, softball, and playing the Lottery. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and he loved the Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward G. Fowler and Cathryn Charlene Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. Fowler of Great Capacon, WV; two sons, Kenneth E. Fowler and Andrew J. Fowler, both of Pasadena; one daughter, Amanda N. Fowler, of Great Capacon, WV; four grandchildren, Gabriella Fowler, Kaya Fowler, Dylan Thompson, and Addison Fowler; and one sister, Cathryn A. Bowers.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 and Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church, 8499 Virginia Avenue, Riviera Beach, MD 21122. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn Park, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, P.O. Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
