David Philip Clifford was taken from us suddenly by heart failure on October 31, 2023. David, son of the late John and Phyllis Clifford, is survived by his loving family - daughters Sarah and Julia, and his wife, Heather, his brother John, sister-in-law Kate, and sister Anne (Clifford) Bisenius and brother-in-law Joe Bisenius. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and in-laws, and many, many friends who are all grieving his passing but reminiscing in the memories that were Dave.

Dave's life was an adventure with a quest to learn and achieve. He was an avid consumer of knowledge whether it was the daily newspaper (real paper), technical/boating journals, or YouTube. A little TikTok thrown in there for fun. He knew something about EVERYTHING. There wasn't a subject he couldn't talk about. He loved music – Buffett, Grateful Dead, Dylan, Chesney and Usher to spice it up. He would throw lyrics into conversations to see if we caught on. When he was interested in something he researched and then did it 150%. He started two tech companies – one of which, Prizm, was instrumental in the discovery of the Titanic. He dove wrecks and coral, hiked the Appalachian Train, he built Frankenbike to bike The Gap, became a Master Gardner to have the best lawn in the neighborhood, and mastered boating the Bay and the ICW as Captain of the Grand Banks Classic Lass. He always had a To-Do list a mile long because there wasn't a problem he couldn't fix (the right way), or a vision he couldn't realize.

However, we all knew that Dave's favorite "project" was being a Family Man. His greatest joy came when he sold his company to retire early and become a full-time Daddy to Sarah and Julia. Dave was a fixture in the parking lot pick-up, the Swifty concerts, and the sport fields. He didn't want to be anywhere else and could be counted on to volunteer wherever he was needed.

His charming personality always drew everyone into his circle. That smile, joke and laugh has charmed a waitress or two and earned him some favors. He was a loyal friend, many for 50+ years, and also a generous benefactor, quietly helping those in need.

Our loss will never be filled, but we will rejoice in the joys and blessings that Dave brought to our lives, and we wish him fair winds and following seas in his afterlife journeys.
