David B.
Boswell
Sep 9, 1948 — Sep 19, 2026
David was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Landsowne, Pennsylvania with his parents, Charles and Mary Boswell, and his sisters Sue Lucey and Barbara Kanuika. He attended Lansdowne-Alden High School where he met his wife, Anita Boswell. They both graduated in 1966. David went on to study Electrical Engineering at Drexel University, graduating in 1971. He and Anita were married in 1971 and moved to Annapolis, Maryland to pursue David’s career. David worked initially at the David Taylor Research Center for many years and eventually moved on to work the majority of his professional life at Gould Inc. David eventually worked for Lockheed Martin as well as a few other places before retiring in 2015. David lived in Arnold, Maryland until the time of his passing.
David and Anita had two children, Charles (Chip) and Carrie, and spent as much time as he could with them. His hobbies included working on cars most weekends, a love for science fiction novels, and an interest in ragtime music. He played the trumpet and the piano in his spare time and loved to work on computers. He also had a passion for baseball and loved the Orioles. He enjoyed attending baseball games and one of his favorite moments in his life was a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010 with Chip. He also had a passion for volunteer work, spending a vast majority of his late adult life volunteering for Donate Life Maryland, even travelling to multiple events with Team Maryland for the Transplant Games.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary, and his daughter, Carrie Boswell. He is survived by his wife, Anita, his son and daughter in law, Chip and Amy Boswell, and his grandchildren, Ryan Boswell and Braylin Burkett.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future and plans for the event will be listed as soon as they are finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Infinite Legacy (https://www.infinitelegacy.org) in his name.
