Danny Ray Decker, 48, of Arnold died May 19 in his home surrounded by family. Born July 13, 1965 in Chillicothe, MO, Danny graduated from Brookfield High School and, following in the footsteps of many great patriots and explorers, joined the navy. Danny was stationed in Annapolis, MD where he met and immediately fell in love with Michelle Picard. They were married at the US Naval Academy on St. Patrick's Day in 1986. Danny then was stationed on the USS DDG-43 Dahlgren and saw the world by sea before returning to Annapolis and Michelle. He then served an additional 3 years in the MIUW reserves out of Baltimore. They would soon have two children, son, Brandon, 26, and daughter Alexis, 23. Danny then took a job in the permits department with Anne Arundel County where he stayed and achieved the position of GIS Specialist over a 26 year career. Danny enjoyed fishing, reading, navy athletics, building and fixing things around the house. He was a devoted husband of 28 years, and a superb father who supported his kids in everything they did and never missed a game. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. In addition to his children, Danny is survived by his wife Michelle, and extended family in Missouri. The family would like to thank all of our friends for their continued support, prayers, flowers, and scrumptious meals.
