IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel J.
Werner
March 9, 1937 – June 26, 2023
On June 26th, 2023, Daniel Joseph Werner of Pasadena Maryland passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family members at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Dan was born to the late William Joseph Werner and Mary Virginia Hammett on March 9th, 1937 in Baltimore Maryland. He was the oldest of four siblings, Henry (deceased), Virginia Lee (Dee) and Theresa (Terri). On January 8th, 2002 Dan was preceded in death by the love of his life G. Carol Werner. He is survived by three generations, his four children Kimberly Arndt (Ken), Steven Werner (Linda), Michael Werner (Gina), Melissa Seiss (Jeff), his 10 grandchildren: Nick, Danielle, Scott, Kyle, Sarah, David, Matthew, Sam, Dorsey, Logan and his two great grandchildren Cohen and Gus.
Dan graduated from Poly Technical High School in Baltimore Maryland and he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from John's Hopkins University. He was also a Professional Engineer where he worked for several years as the Chief Engineer for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works. From there, Dan moved on to become one of the founding owners of Anarex, Inc., a Civil Engineering and Surveying firm, and remained there until his retirement.
Dan met his wife Carol, his best girl, in Baltimore Maryland where they both grew up. They made their home in several different areas of Anne Arundel County (Glen Burnie and Severna Park), where they raised all four of their children. Dan was a devout Catholic and a devoted parishioner of St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Parish where he served on the Parish Council, was a Eucharistic Minister and was a part of numerous other ministries for the Catholic Church.
While growing up, Dan was always enamored with life by the water and loved being on the Chesapeake Bay. Whether it was just cruising around on his boat, fishing or crabbing. He spent many summers in St. Mary's County, where his family was from, on the water. Dan also enjoyed playing golf, although not well lol, at the Crofton Country Club where he made many great friends.
Dan's greatest achievement in life admittedly was his great love for his family. After the passing of his wife, he was the anchor for the family and always was around and available for everyone. He was so greatly loved by his grandchildren, passing on his wisdom, faith and commitment to family. The family spent many weekends at his pool and many summer vacations at the beach in N.C. Dan had a full and happy life greatly loved by his family and friends. The people that knew him, realized that he was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all of those that knew him in life. RIP Dad we love you.
