Daniel R. Lipsey Jr., 79, of Selbyville DE, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Albany, GA, he graduated from high school and entered the United States Air Force in 1956, where he served his country faithfully. Dan moved to Laurel, MD, with his wife Rita in 1962 and continued a 35-year career at the National Security Agency.

After becoming a widower in 1984, Dan met and married Margueritte "Laurie" in 1986 and moved to Severna Park, MD. He retired from NSA and they moved to Selbyville, DE. Together, Dan and Laurie enjoyed cruising and ministering to others. Dan also loved spending time on the water, fishing, videography, and the Orioles, Redskins and Terps.

Dan was an avid supporter of the Phoenix Society, Full Gospel Businessmen's Association, Walk to Emmaus, Tres Arroyos, and Kairos. He was a friend and mentor to many, and had a true passion for sharing his love of Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Survived by his wife Laurie, brother Mack, children Danny, Laurie, Mark, Elizabeth James and Dianna Lancione, and his grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Calvary Chapel, 8064 New Cut Rd, Severn, MD 21144. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am in the church immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veteran Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD 21032.
