Daniel James Griffin, Jr. of Arnold, passed away on January 11, 2020.

Daniel was born to Daniel Griffin Sr. and Patricia Gellert on September 13, 1965 in Annapolis, MD.

He was raised in the Severna Park and Arnold area, and graduated from Severna Park High School, class of '84. He then graduated with his bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University. Daniel was employed with Northrop Grumman and Westinghouse for many years.

Daniel had a love for music. While in high school, he was a member of a band and still spent time with his band members to this day. Daniel was a "soccer dad", he loved supporting his boys from the sideline throughout their athletic careers. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Griffin, Sr. and Patricia Gellert; his two brothers, Tony Paterini and David Paterini; and his stepbrother, Tim Leslie.

He is survived by his two sons, Daniel James Griffin, III, of Aston, P.A. and Evan Griffin of Annapolis; his former wife and mother of his children, Gail Griffin of Arnold; his sisters, Sheila Gunkel (Jimmy) of Pasadena and Patty Lincoln (Bob) of Millersville; his brothers, Mike Paterini (Janis), of Gladstone, Missouri, and Brian Griffin of Glen Burnie; his three step-siblings, Steven Leslie (Denise), Butch Leslie, and Lisa Mahoney (Leo) and two grandchildren, Giuliana Griffin and RJ Griffin.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A memorial service will be held the following day at 11:00am at Christ Lutheran Church, 8249 Jumpers Hole Rd, Millersville, MD 21108.
