Daniel Malcolm Grayson, 60, of Severna Park, died of heart failure May 19 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Grayson was born July 6, 1944, in Washington, D.C., and reared in Landover. Formerly of Laurel and Odenton, he taught at Laurel Junior High School and Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School.

He passed the certified public accountancy examination in 1992 and retired from teaching to work as a CPA for Clark and Andersen. He retired in 1996, ran a CPA business from his home and did tax work for the Susan C. Fusco Memorial Scholarship Fund.

He was a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs.

Mr. Grayson was a field director for Barrie Day Camp in Silver Spring for 20 years. He traveled to the British Isles and throughout the western United States.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy A. Grayson; two sons, Jason M. Grayson of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Ethan T. Grayson of Pasadena; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be private.
