Daniel Joseph Affrunti, of Stevensville, Maryland formerly of Farmington, Connecticut, passed away on August 29, 2025 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Michele; their children, Christopher and Nicholas; and his four grandchildren.

Daniel was born on November 16, 1949 in Brindisi, Italy. He was adopted by Philip and Catherine Affrunti and raised in Chicago, Illinois. After completing high school, he attended Northwestern University, graduating in 1971. He then went on to earn a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut. He had a fulfilling career as a Psychologist at Newington Children's Hospital and Connecticut Children's Medical Center, where he worked for thirty years before establishing a private practice where he continued to work until his retirement in 2015.

Throughout his life, Daniel was known for his thoughtfulness, kindness, and dry sense of humor. He had a deep love for sports, playing a variety of them and coaching his sons' youth soccer teams. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and New England Patriots fan. He was also a voracious reader and loved film. But he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Maryland Food Bank or the National Alliance on Mental Illness in his honor.
