Cynthia L. Bonner, 45, a 10-year resident of Millersville, died of neuro endocrine carcinoid cancer July 5 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore after a lengthy illness.

Born April 11, 1959, in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Bonner was reared in Landover Hills, attended Fairmont Heights High School and graduated from University of Maryland College Park in 1983.

Mrs. Bonner worked as a first grade teacher at St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Severna Park for three years and Kenilworth Elementary School in Bowie for another 15 years.

She enjoyed gardening and painting and was active in the Girl Scouts and Severna Park Green Hornet organizations. She helped her children deliver The Capital newspaper.

Surviving are her husband, Joe Bonner; their children, Joey, Kelsey and Paul Bonner of the home; her mother, Joanne Vaughan of Bowie; her grandmother, Helen Vaughan of Glen Burnie; and two brothers, Alan M. Vaughan Jr. of West River and Daniel M. Vaughan of Bowie.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 669 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
