Cleopatra Franko, 84, died May 3 at her home in Catonsville.
Born Cleopatra Vasilakis on Feb. 18, 1924, in Weirton, W. Va., Mrs. Franko graduated from Weir High School in 1942. She previously lived in Atlanta. She was a longtime resident of Catonsville.
Mrs. Franko was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Baltimore and Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis. Among her interests were football, Joe Montana, family, cross-stitching, shopping, watching golf with her son and spending time with her granddaughters.
She was the widow of business owner Thomas Franko, to whom she was married for 26 years. The pair met at a Greek dance and vacationed in Canada and Florida.
Surviving are her sons, Andrew T. Franko of Severna Park and Michael Franko of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Trisagion service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Monday. She will lie in state Tuesday at at 10:30 a.m. and services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Woodlawn.
