Clayton Lorenzo Boston

On Saturday, October 10, 2009, Clayton Lorenzo Boston of Glen Burnie, slipped into eternal rest. Born December 19, 1950 to the late Mabel Crowner Boston and Kenneth Earle Boston.

Clayton was raised in Galesville, Edgewater, and Annapolis, MD. He received his education in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, graduating from Annapolis High School, where he was active in the marching band and voted best dressed.

His religious foundation was received at Hopes St. Marks United Methodist Church. In 1994, he was baptized and added to the body of Christ, becoming a member of The Capital Church of Christ.

Clayton was employed by Crownsville State Hospital, Supercrete, and was in partnership with C& C Construction, prior to becoming completely disabled.

A man of many talents, he was a skilled barber and cement finisher. His passion for music gave him a zest for living. Clayton played with various bands and was the trumpet player and founding member of the Marquettes Band (lovingly known as Spit and But a Dah Dah).

Clayton is survived by his dear son, Clayton Lamont Boston; his loving brothers and sisters, Carlos Finley, LaGearl Boston, Aaron Boston, Carolus Boston, (Doreatha), Gerald Boston, Kenneth Boston (Karen), Sharon B. Gross, (Kelly), Calla B. Mims (Anthony), Carter Boston (Karen), Kennetta Douglas (Ronald), Carliese B. Scott (James), Robert Bobby Offer and Carpathia Boston; his aunts and uncles, Eleanor Cobbs, Alice Collison (John Reginald), Charles Boston (Rachel), Francis Boston (Gladys), Rev. Louis Boston (Isabel) and Shirley Long (Irving); beloved grandfather of Morgan and David Boston; loving friend of Myrtle Brown Plattenburg, Carol Burnett Smith; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Moses Boston, Sarah (Sadie) Olney Boston, Robert Crowner, Eleanor Davis Crowner, and two sisters, Janice Turner (Joseph), Brenda Boston and Dennis Simms.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:00am at The Capital Church of Christ 1790 Lincoln Drive Annapolis, MD with the interment to follow at Hope St. Mark United Methodist Church 3672 Muddy Creek Road Edgewater, MD.
